Where to Shoot - Drop-In Ranges for the Lower Mainland
If you have your PAL and want to shoot in the Lower Mainland, there are plenty of options. If you don't have your PAL yet and want to try shooting for the first time, there's a clear option for that too. This is a working list of every drop-in shooting range in the Lower Mainland: addresses, pricing, what you need to bring, and which one fits which use case.
Where can I shoot near Vancouver?
The Lower Mainland has six main drop-in shooting venues, each with a different specialty. Indoor handgun and rifle, outdoor rifle, trap and skeet, and dedicated event nights for handgun and .22LR. The Range Langley is the largest and the most accessible for first-time shooters because it has rental firearms and professional staff who supervise. The Vancouver Gun Club is the main shotgun venue. The rest are specialized.
A valid PAL is required at every range to use your own firearm. If you're using rental firearms at The Range Langley under their staff supervision, you do not need a PAL. Some ranges require additional safety briefings or proof of ATT for restricted firearms.
What if I don't have a PAL yet?
Start at The Range Langley. They rent firearms to the general public and their staff supervise you through the experience. You do not need your own equipment, prior experience, or a licence to try shooting there. When you're ready to take the next step and get licensed, our CFSC and CRFSC combined course is the path.
Do I need an ATT to bring restricted firearms to the range?
Yes. Any restricted firearm (handguns and most semi-automatic rifles) requires an active Authorization to Transport from the Canadian Firearms Program. To qualify for an ATT, the CFP requires you to be a member of an approved shooting club. The Silvercore Club is RCMP-approved for ATT issuance and renewal and has been since 2007. Membership is $59 per year and the ATT process is included.
If your range visits are with non-restricted firearms only (rifles and shotguns for hunting), you do not need an ATT.

Shooting often? You're probably leaving coverage on the table.
Most range members carry whatever liability insurance their home range provides while they're on the premises and nothing when they're off it. The Silvercore Club includes $5 million in third-party liability coverage through Lloyd's of London for hunting and shooting-related activities across North America. That coverage follows you, not the range.
If you also hunt in the Fraser Valley Special Licence Hunting Area (Management Units 2-4 and 2-8), you are legally required to carry at least $1 million in third-party hunting liability insurance. The Silvercore Club exceeds the FVSLHA requirement.
Membership is $59 per year and includes:
- RCMP-approved ATT eligibility for restricted firearms
- $5 million in third-party liability coverage through Lloyd's of London, valid across North America
- Standing discounts on Tangent Theta (10 percent), SAI Optics (15 percent), Tenebraex (20 percent), Stoeger Canada, Marathon Watch, Grayl, and other partner brands
- The Outpost, the member-only Silvercore podcast
- Access to live Q&A events with industry guests
For most active shooters in the Lower Mainland, the partner discounts cover the membership in a single optics or accessory purchase. The insurance is the part that matters when something goes wrong.
