Your Chief Firearms Officer issues your ATT. Trips to approved shooting clubs and shooting ranges in your province of residence are authorized by your licence under Firearms Act s. 19(2.1) on renewal and s. 19(2.3) on an approved transfer, except a firearm acquired as part of a gun collection. The trip home to storage in your province of residence after an approved transfer is authorized under s. 19(2.2). To apply for an Authorization to Transport for any other trip:
- you must have a valid Canadian firearms licence that permits you to have that class of firearm;
- apply for an Authorization to Transport online by accessing the Individual Web Services;
- call the Canadian Firearms Program CFP at 1-800-731-4000; or
- send an Application for an Authorization to Transport Restricted Firearms and Prohibited Firearms (form RCMP 5490) to the Canadian Firearms Program of the province/territory where the firearm is located.
After signing up for a membership with Silvercore, you will receive an order confirmation email with a link to your account. This is where you will be able to view and print your electronic Membership Letter.
Note: You must be logged into your account to view your membership letter. To download the PDF letter, go to your Dashboard and open your membership letter under Account Details. Include this PDF with your restricted firearm transfer application when your Chief Firearms Officer asks for proof of membership.
Canadian Firearms Program policy looks for gun club or range membership as proof of your purpose when your Chief Firearms Officer approves a restricted firearm transfer. The Silvercore Club meets that policy and is accepted in all provinces and territories across Canada. Membership includes $5 million in third-party liability insurance. Your Chief Firearms Officer issues your Authorization to Transport. Members also get regulatory updates by email when the rules change. Anyone can join, with or without a PAL.
Not as a condition of possession. The Firearms Act does not make club membership a condition of possessing a restricted firearm. Membership in an approved shooting club or range is RCMP Canadian Firearms Program policy that Chief Firearms Officers apply when they approve a restricted firearm transfer for target practice, so keep it active while you acquire restricted firearms for target practice. When a licence with restricted privileges is renewed, Firearms Act s. 67(2) has your Chief Firearms Officer decide whether you use your restricted firearms for a purpose the Act lists, and target practice under the auspices of a shooting club or shooting range approved under section 29 is one of them. No. Silvercore Club membership is $59 a year with no multi-year discount. Members receive discounts with participating retailers.
No. There are no requirements to join the Silvercore Club. You can sign up without a PAL and still receive member benefits such as $5 million in liability insurance.

Yes. The Silvercore Club is accepted in all provinces and territories across Canada and meets the Canadian Firearms Program policy that Chief Firearms Officers apply to restricted firearm transfers. Your provincial or territorial Chief Firearms Officer decides each transfer application, and membership does not guarantee approval.
